π Soft Practices from Around the World β Part 5 of 8
No gurus. No apps. Just quiet rituals you can keep. See all posts in the series.
Long before clocks and calendars, people slept by the moon.
They noticed how full moons made it harder to rest. How new moons invited stillness.
They let moonlight β or its absence β set the rhythm.
Some would leave a window open to catch the glow.
Others turned their pillow to face away from the light.
A few whispered goodnight to the sky.
It wasnβt about tracking phases. It was about noticing them.
Letting the night be a teacher.
Try it:
Tonight, look at the moon.
Ask yourself: What kind of sleep does this light ask for?
- Is it a time for deep quiet?
- For dreams?
- For letting go?
Let the moon become part of your bedtime β not a symbol, but a companion.
If you want, leave your curtain cracked. Let it in.
No need for rituals.
Just relationship.
Let it be yours.
